Safety; how safe is Costa Rica?

Costa Rica is one of the safest and most developed countries of Central America!

This is partly the reason why many women travel alone in this beautiful country. But of course, you must still be careful! Wherever there are tourists, there are pickpockets! Watch your belongings and use your common sense! It is permitted by the authorities to travel around inside Costa Rica with only a copy of your passport, so you can leave the original document in a hotel or some other secure area.
