Braulio Carillo - National Park

National Park Braulio Carillo was one of the first private protected areas in Costa Rica. The diversity of animal- and plant species is spectacular and the biological centre La Selva is one of the world's most important sites for tropical ecosystem research.

Some of the highlights of this park are:

- Home to more than 70 species of bats

- Home to five of the six species of felines in Costa Rica

- Home to 1850 species of vascular plant flora
