Tortuguero - Turtles

Day 1

An early morning departure will have you en route through

one of Costa Rica's most scenic parks, Braulio Carrillo, then continue the journey heading towards the lowlands of the province of Limon, passing through banana plantations. A boat will be waiting for you to take you into the heart of Tortuguero National Park, to lore the intricate system of natural canals and waterways. Observe the abundant flora and fauna on your way. The comfortable lodge will be your base of discovery for the next few days. All meals included.

Day 2

Today your naturalist tour guide will take you to explore yet more of the canals in this lush rainforest region, as well as walking through the trails of the park, and a visit to the little village of Tortuguero. All meals included.

Day 3

This morning awake early to enjoy the lovely surroundings of Costa Rica's own "Amazon" - like area , then head back to San José, first by boat, and then the journey back on land. Breakfast and lunch included.

Advice: bring dark clothing. The turtle tour takes place when it's dark. Light colored clothes reflect the moonlight, which will disorientate the turtles and prevent them from laying their eggs.
